Labeling Documents

This guide will instruct you on how to create automatically updating labels for your documents.

Labeling Documents

To label your documents, click on the “Label Documents” icon under the “Organize” tab. This will display the Label Documents window.

In the “Labeling Style” dropdown, you will see four options: (1) “No Labels,” (2) “1, 2, 3…,” (3) “A, B, C…,” and (4) “I, II, III….” Selecting “No Labels” will remove any existing labels once you press submit. Select your preferred label style.

You will see the option to “Label document families together?” This will allow you to label your document families under their parent (e.g., 1, 1.A, 1.B, …). If you select this option, a “Child Labeling Style” field will appear. Select your preferred child labeling style.

You will also see the option to “Automatically update labels?” Selecting this option will cause your labels to automatically update whenever you add, remove, or reorder your documents.

When you press “Submit,” your documents will be labelled according to your chosen labeling style(s), in the order in which they appear in the Navigation list.
